Cupid is a Killer

Cupid Is a Killer is a script originally written for the sustained era of the Casey series, but it fits perfectly for the softer and more romantic undertones for the Toni target audience. This episode is entertaining, featuring a romantic subplot that borders on screwball comedy.

In this episode, Casey demonstrates to a love-smitten gangster the error of bumping off the opposition to clear the road for romance. When a man is murdered, Casey and the police set out to break the air-tight alibi of Bat McCoy, the known admirer of the victim's pretty wife. The story unfolds with dramatic and surprising results.

Despite not being at the best level of the Anchor Hocking run, this episode has its worthwhile moments, including amusing characterizations and engaging interactions among Casey, Ann, and the other characters. The episode concludes with a happy ending, as Kansas and Valerie become engaged, while Casey navigates the comedic challenges presented by the situation.
