Ray Bradbury: BBC Radio Plays

(4.6 estrellas; 56 reseñas)

A giant of 20th century genre fiction, Bradbury’s imaginative stories lend themselves particularly well to the audio medium. Here’s a collection of dramatizations and readings from BBC Radio.

This collection features notable adaptations such as "The Veldt," a cautionary tale about the perils of smart technology, and "Fahrenheit 451," a dark futuristic tale about a fireman who begins to question his role in a society that burns books. Other highlights include "The Illustrated Man," where a traveler encounters a vagrant whose tattoos predict the future, and "The Martian Chronicles," a thrilling re-imagining of doomed Martian colonization.

This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.

illustrated man was a bit disappointing, instead of getting my favorite story THE CITY or CONCRETE MIXER or THE OTHER FOOT, i get KALEIDOSCOPE a second time. i do love it though when brits try american accents. it always sounds a little off.

What great detail in description and curation! What you've chosen and how you describe the audio dramas are such a valuable service. I really hope you continue to do so as these are appreciated so very much. Thank you and please know that you have a dedicated audience out there that value your efforts and taste. Please, keep it up.
