In April 1947, Anchor Hocking sponsored a special closed-circuit broadcast of the popular radio series Casey, Crime Photographer during their annual sales convention in Lancaster, Ohio. This unique presentation, held on April 15, featured a skit about the cast gathering at the Blue Note and delivering greetings to the convention attendees.

Jan Miner, who had recently replaced Lesley Woods in the series, expressed optimism about the show's ability to attract a large audience and promote Anchor Hocking products. The event coincided with a period of recovery and growth in the post-WW2 era, as families began to return to normalcy. However, despite the initial enthusiasm, Anchor Hocking would later cancel its sponsorship due to overestimations of the advertising's impact on sales.
